Adeel Saeed was former Senior Vice President, Global Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Interim Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Corporate Technology Services at State Street.

He has end-to-end accountability for leading, planning and building advocacy, support and sponsorship for information security across the organization and around the world. By leveraging leading-edge technology and engineering practices, objective of Information security is to bring together different disciplines that revolve around security to establish the vision, strategy and architecture to ensure client and other data can be secured effectively and flexibly.

In his interim capacity, he is also is currently responsible for providing leadership for developing and implementing strategic technology initiatives and directing the planning, prioritization, and implementation of IT systems in support of State Street’s our corporate functions (including Compliance, Finance, Legal, Risk, Audit and HR).

Prior to joining State Street, he was the chief information officer of Group Corporate Technology for the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) where he was responsible for the Group’s Corporate Systems, PMO, Business Management and Information Security. He has led technology transformation through technology modernization and cost efficiencies through standardization. He is well experienced in delivering technology platforms and tools to empower business growth while managing talent and integrations.  He has held various senior technology positions at various financial institutions, including Refinance.com, American Stock Exchange and Millennium BCP (formerly known as Banco Commercial Portuguese).

Adeel Saeed holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science and is a member of the SANS Institute. He also represents State Street as a board member of FSARC under FS-ISAC and ACSC.

Elizabeth Austin
Chief Information Officer


As the CIO of Curvature, Elizabeth leads the global information technology team supporting enterprise solution deployments and on-going operational initiatives. Previously, Elizabeth was the CIO at SMS Systems Maintenance Services from 2014 to 2017.

Prior to joining Curvature, Elizabeth was the Vice President of IT Application Services at Family Dollar. She has held positions with Premier Systems Integrators, Powersoft, Inc., Computer Solutions, Inc. and Burroughs Corporation.  Elizabeth graduated from UNC Charlotte.

Elizabeth is the STEM Outreach Co-Chair for the Charlotte SIM (Society of Information Management) Chapter as well a Past President.  She serves as Treasurer for Charlotte Area Technology Collaborative (CATC), a 501c3 non-profit supporting STEM education and WISE (Women in Science Empowered).  Elizabeth is a member of InspireCIO Charlotte.  Elizabeth was named a Charlotte Business Journal Women in Business Achievement Winner for the Class of 2018.  She was awarded the SIM Women Woman of Service Award in 2018.

Elizabeth Sampson is a technology executive with over 20 years of global experience strengthening organizations through technology, analytics, and organizational/business process design. She has a track record of working adeptly across global teams in Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Throughout her career, Elizabeth has leveraged her acumen in stakeholder engagement to drive thought leadership and strategic change – all with shareholder value and business growth as priorities. Her global work experience and her diverse background enable her to bring a unique perspective to business challenges that are ever-evolving in an increasingly global and digital environment.

Elizabeth currently serves as SVP, Technology for Brookfield’s Distributed Generation business. Prior to this, she served as CIO at TerraForm Power (NASDAQ: TERP). TerraForm Power is an owner and operator of a best-in-class, 4,200+ MW renewable power portfolio including solar and wind assets in North America, South America and Western Europe. Before joining TerraForm, Elizabeth served as Vice President of Solutions and Business Technology for Brookfield Asset Management, a global alternative asset management company with over $540B in AUM. Brookfield Asset Management was also sponsor and majority shareholder of TerraForm Power. Prior to Brookfield, she worked with GE and Genpact for a combined 14 years.

In her most recent roles, Elizabeth drives Commercial, Corporate, and Operational technology strategy. She has been pivotal in solidifying IoT solutions and leveraging operational data combined with analytics and automation to drive business results and value for key Brookfield Renewable Energy businesses. She is keenly focused on cybersecurity, particularly as it relates to protecting critical infrastructure, and executed an accelerated and comprehensive cybersecurity initiative at TERP. Elizabeth has been the force behind the digital transformation of key Brookfield Renewable Energy businesses, establishing an architecture comprised of cloud-enabled business applications, smart automation, analytics and IoT solutions to drive tangible business value while improving enterprise-wide governance and security.

Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) from Calcutta University.

Lisa Schneider is Chief Digital Officer & Publisher at Merriam-Webster, where she leads digital strategy and execution across content and product development, user experience, and technology. She has redefined the dictionary for the digital age through a combination of technology upgrades and content/social strategy, changing people’s perception of the brand from a “dusty book on the shelf” to a timely, relevant resource and commentary users turn to every day. Under her leadership, Merriam-Webster has won numerous awards including 5 Webby Awards, and she was recently featured on the AdAge Creativity 50 and the Folio: Top Women in Media lists. 

Previously, Lisa held executive roles in digital strategy and product development at Penton, Budget Travel, Reader’s Digest, and Bridal Guide.

Marcus Delano East

Since then, he has built a reputation for being a ‘creative technologist,’ someone who enjoys solving difficult problems in innovative ways, whether they are complex business challenges or life-changing social issues.

He has spent half of his career working for leading technology companies building world- class technology (Apple & IBM) and the other half of his career helping brands to harness the power of technology to drive business value — including Comic Relief, Marks and Spencer, and National Geographic.

Marcus attended The Latymer Grammar School in London and subsequently read for an honors degree at the London Metropolitan University majoring in Management & Information Technology, and a Master’s in Management (major in Social Enterprise) from the University of Cambridge.

He is a Fellow of the BCS (British Computer Society) Chartered Institute for Information Technology (FBCS) and a Member of the Chartered Management Institute (MCMI).

In his spare time, he enjoys watching soccer, building computers, investigating applications for blockchain technology, and traveling with his wife.

Maureen launched AWS Training and Certification in 2012 with the vision of delivering new training and certification programs to meet learners where they are and to rapidly proliferate cloud skills. Her team has built a robust portfolio of flexible training offerings alongside an industry-leading certification program and continues to deliver innovative cloud learning opportunities. Education programs from Training and Certification—AWS Academy and AWS re/Start—are building a pipeline of cloud talent to meet the demands of the future. 

Maureen is passionate about enabling professional development and preparing people of all backgrounds for careers in technology. Prior to Amazon, Maureen was the Senior Director for Partner Enablement at VMware where she built training and enablement programs and delivered training to hundreds of thousands of individuals across a channel of tens of thousands of partners. She also served as the Director of Technical Training and Enablement at Symantec and the Director of Education Services at Ariba. Maureen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from California State University-Sacramento.

Shawn’s two decades of leadership experience includes growing diverse, agile teams that deliver strategic business outcomes in fast-paced global environments. She previously served as Director of IT at Spotify and Director of Global Infrastructure at Universal Music Group and EMI Music. She is currently on the tech advisory board for Year Up, a national organization that provides professional career training to underprivileged young adults and helps them secure internships with top US companies.
