Dr Arun Verma is a specialist in embedding intersectionality, diversity and inclusion into impact strategies. Arun completed his Master’s in Clinical Applications of Psychology and a PhD in intersectionality and health professions education in 2018 and has published and presented diversity and inclusion research at international conferences. He has shaped and informed diversity and inclusion policy and practice impact across higher education, government and third sectors. He holds two academic appointments at the University of Dundee as an Academic Tutor and member of the International Network of Transitions Researchers and as a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Surrey.

On graduating the University of Cambridge he built a career in the youth sector designing social justice learning programmes on behalf of corporate partners and since then has gone on to facilitate workshops for clients such as the Metropolitan Police Service, UNICEF, and leading names across tech and law, law and banking industries. He believes in challenging ourselves through uncomfortable conversations and when not doing this, spends time with his kittens or at his allotment!

Furkan Karayel is an award winning inclusive leadership advisor, mentor and speaker. She developed Inclusive Intelligence conception, a new way to recognize and practice inclusive leadership in the workplace effectively. Furkan is an associate lecturer at Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology. Her passion is leveraging women-in-tech leadership, diversity and empowering female founders globally and she serves as an advisory board member and judge for multiple organisations.
